PROJECT BRIEF

The brief was to design a bold, playful pop-up activation around a Snapchat-powered vending machine that rewarded screams with ice-cold Oasis bottles. Driving brand awareness, product trial and social amplification through a seamless IRL and digital experience.

MY CREATIVE IMPACT

My focus was the journey before the machine. To intercept stressed lunch-breakers at high-footfall locations and giving them a genuinely unexpected midday moment. The Snapchat technology and Oasis partnership were already in place, my job was to make sure the moment this activation was spotted from across a busy lunch crowd, public already wanted to be part of it.

Marketing Focussed Perspective

The pre-lunch slump is real. By midday, most people have already sat through two hours of back-to-back meetings, answered fifty emails and eaten a sad desk sandwich without looking up from their screen. Lunchtime isn't a break anymore. It's just a quieter version of the same stress. Oasis saw that gap, the moment in the day when people most need to feel something other than overwhelmed and decided to meet them there.

BEFORE

For sixty minutes, none of it mattered. The Oasis Venting Machine gave consumers something workplaces never do, full permission to let go with zero judgement and a cold drink as a reward. The louder the scream, the better the prize. In a world where adults spend most of their day managing how they come across, this was the rare moment where being completely unfiltered was not just accepted but celebrated.

DURING

People left energised, a little surprised by themselves, and with the quiet satisfaction of having actually used their lunch break for something that felt good. There was a lightness to it, the kind that's hard to manufacture and impossible to fake. Success for me means that feeling lingered long after the drink was finished. It travels back to the office, into the next shop and onto the next lunchbreak.

AFTER

Production Informed Perspective

The machine sat centre stage within 4m x 4m footprint, with every surrounding element scaled back deliberately. Bold Oasis branding and physically integrated campaign messaging as siganges did the hard work, letting the machine and the interaction speak for themselves.

BUILD

Once one person stepped up, others stopped to watch and the footfall fed itself. Throughout the live days, the space stayed energised, loud and continuously occupied. Every person who walked away with an Oasis had earned it in the most unexpected way. This made the drink taste better, the brand feel warmer, and the whole experience worth talking about.

IMPACT

Built for the road, not just one location. Heavy duty, waterproof materials meant the kit could travel across multiple high-footfall sites without losing its finish or requiring a rebuild. Every element was designed to be packed down, transported and reinstalled — reducing waste and maximising the brand's investment across the campaign run.
